Anchor⚓Point Brain Mapping

brain mapping

Brain mapping creates visual representations of brain activity to understand the structure and function of different brain regions. This cutting-edge technology enables us to develop customized treatment plans for each client according to how different parts of their brain function and communicate.

Who Can Benefit from Brain Mapping

Brain mapping helps identify the root causes and develop targeted treatment plans for managing the symptoms of the following:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Panic Disorder
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • PTSD
  • migraines
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

What Does Brain Mapping Tell You?

Brain mapping gives you a detailed visualization of brain activity, pinpointing irregular brainwaves that may be causing neurological issues.

Brain mapping relates (or maps) the brain’s structure with its functions, identifying which regions are responsible for various abilities like creativity or logical thinking. This process generates a comprehensive report for each patient, highlighting areas of dysfunction and recommending specific protocols to address them.

How Brain Mapping Works

Brain mapping is a sophisticated form of neurofeedback therapy. Many sensors are placed on the scalp to measure the power of brainwave frequencies at the scalp and to determine the regional functioning of the brain. No dyes or contrast agents are used.

The sensors send the electrical signals at the scalp sites through an amplifier and on to an electroencephalograph (EEG). The signals are then displayed on a monitor. This approach is especially helpful in cases of attention disorder or concentration problems, as well as rebuilding brain cells following a trauma or brain injury.

Comfort Level of Brain Mapping

Brain mapping, also known as qEEG, is noninvasive and painless. Most people experience these techniques enable them to identify the parts of the brain that help them feel more in control, concentrate, and overall feel better. In rare cases, there may be mild discomfort.

Here are the key points about the comfort level of brain mapping:

  1. Non-invasive procedure: Brain mapping typically uses electroencephalogram (EEG) sensors placed within a snug cap on the scalp to record brain activity. This method does not involve any injections, incisions, or internal probes.
  2. Painless: The process is painless, as the sensors only read the brain’s electrical impulses without stimulating or altering brain function.
  3. Calm setting: Patients usually sit comfortably during the procedure, which can last anywhere from 60-90 minutes.
  4. Rleaxing: During the time when your brain waves are being recorded, you will simply rest quietly, still and relaxed with your eyes closed for 5-10 minutes and later watch the monitor of your brain waves for 5-10 minutes. There are no challenging tasks to complete.
  5. Safe for all ages: The procedure is considered safe for both adults and children.
  6. No side effects: Since brain mapping only records brain activity without altering it, there are no known side effects or risks associated with the procedure.
  7. Potential for relief: Many patients find comfort and validation in getting a measure of their brain function, which can provide relief from uncertainty about their symptoms or conditions.
